# Product Description Prompt Pack (English)

ecommtitan.com - Draft for review, 2026-11-03

Seven reusable prompts for drafting and checking product descriptions with any AI chatbot. They are templates and have not been tested on a specific tool. Replace each [placeholder] with your own confirmed data.

## Rules that apply to every prompt

- Use only the data provided. Do not add specs, certifications, warranties, awards or promised results.
- If something is missing or contradictory, ask me. Do not guess.
- Copy numbers and units exactly as given. Do not convert them.
- Do not paste customer data or confidential information.
- Every output is a draft. A human checks it against the product and its documents before use.

## 1. Turn messy notes into a product data card

```text
TASK: Organize the notes below into a product data card.
Use only what is in the notes.
NOTES:
[paste your raw notes]
OUTPUT FORMAT (a table):
Field | Value from the notes | Status (confirmed / unclear / missing)
Fields: name, model, color or version, material or ingredients, dimensions and units, weight or capacity, box contents, use and care, warnings, packaging text.
RULES:
- Do not fill a gap. Mark it "missing".
- If two notes contradict each other, list both and mark "unclear".
- End with a list of questions I must answer.
```

## 2. Main product description

```text
TASK: Write a draft product description for human review.
Use ONLY this data card:
[paste the data card]
Audience: [who]
Tone: [for example plain and friendly, no hype]
Length: [for example about 120 words]
Where it appears: [own store / marketplace listing]
RULES:
- No specs, certifications, warranty or results that are not in the card.
- Do not turn a material name into a durability or safety claim.
- If information is missing, list questions at the end instead of guessing.
OUTPUT:
1. Description paragraph.
2. Spec bullets (each traceable to the card).
3. Open questions.
Label the result "Draft for review."
```

## 3. Title and short bullet points

```text
TASK: Propose 3 title options and 5 short bullet points.
Data: [paste the data card]
Where it appears: [channel]. Limits for this channel: [write them after checking the official policy, or "not checked"].
RULES:
- Titles name the product and its basic type only; no promotional words I did not give you.
- Each bullet states one fact from the data.
- Do not assume any character limit that I did not give you.
OUTPUT: a numbered list of titles, then the bullets, then a line saying which data point supports each bullet.
```

## 4. Variants (colors, sizes, versions)

```text
TASK: Write one short description per variant.
Shared data: [shared facts]
Variant A data: [facts]
Variant B data: [facts]
RULES:
- Do not carry a property from one variant to another.
- Mark any property that exists for only one variant.
- If a variant's data is incomplete, ask.
OUTPUT: one block per variant, then a table of differences between variants.
```

## 5. Find missing information before writing

```text
TASK: Review this data card and tell me what a buyer would want to know that is not here.
Data card: [paste]
Product type: [type]
RULES:
- Do not answer the questions yourself. Only list them.
- Group questions by: specs, use and care, box contents, compatibility, warnings.
- Mark each question as essential or optional.
OUTPUT: a grouped checklist I can send to the supplier or product owner.
```

## 6. Claim audit of an existing description

```text
TASK: Audit the description below against the data card.
Data card: [paste]
Description: [paste]
For each sentence, label it:
- SUPPORTED (point to the data line),
- NOT IN DATA (needs a source or removal),
- RISKY CLAIM (performance, safety, health, certification, comparison).
RULES:
- Do not rewrite yet. Only audit.
- Do not accept a claim because it sounds reasonable.
OUTPUT: a table: sentence | label | supporting data or "none" | suggested action.
```

## 7. Tone and clarity edit (facts locked)

```text
TASK: Improve readability and tone of the text below.
Text: [paste]
Target tone: [specify]
Locked facts: every number, unit, material, name and warning must stay exactly as written.
RULES:
- Do not add new information.
- After editing, list any sentence where meaning may have shifted.
OUTPUT: the edited text, then the list of possible meaning changes.
```

## Review reminder

Before you use any output: match every fact to the product and its documents; remove claims you cannot prove; check packaging text and warnings letter by letter; check the current official policy of your sales channel; and get the product owner's approval. AI output is a starting point, not a source.
